Imagine a day when your washing machines will know how much detergent powder is left and place a new order before it gets over. Amazon has decided to partner with major smart device manufacturers like General Electronic, August, Samsung, Gmate, Oster, Petnet, Obe, CleverPet, Thync, Sutro, Sealed Airso, etc. to include its Dash technology in items like smart printers and washing machines.
The Dash Replenishment technology uses sensors installed in devices to order automatically placement products. Should the Dash technology is used in smart washing machines, they will order laundry detergent as soon as it gets over, without any manual instruction. It’s going to be a huge step by Amazon where day to day life will become 100% hassle-free; moreover it will create extra opportunities for Amazon to snag more of consumers’ wallets.
When Amazon launched Dash buttons early this year, they came with manual support i.e. users had to press a physical button to order products like laundry detergent and paper towels. The company had tied up with 18 brands initially; however, the number of brands have increased now. The company has now decided to make the Dash technology button free to make sure that customers don’t have to keep abreast with the quantity of the products left.
It’s another example of how Internet of Things can make people’s life easy and hassle-free.
