Amid many other IoT related announcements at the Mobile World Congress, Ooredoo launched expanded portfolio of M2M and IoT solutions. The company looks forward to growing its M2M and IoT portfolio in the coming months.
Ooredoo spokesperson at MWC said that the demand for IoT has steadily been growing at a fast pace. With the passage of time, more and more businesses will enter this field. He further added that the global mobile M2M market is likely to grow from $3.22 billion in 2015 to a whopping $11.50 billion in the year 2020, driven mainly by increasing demand and decreasing cost.
Ooredoo believes that highest growth will be seen in North America and South East Asian markets as the companies in those areas would want to use M2M and IoT to get rid of their day-to-day business challenges.
Not long ago, Ooredoo partnered with Ericsson and created a Managed Connectivity Solution named IoT Connect, which was based on its DC (Device Connection) platform. As of now it’s available in Tunisia, Indonesia and Kuwait, and helps customers taking full control on their M2M/IoT connectivity. The IoT Connect platform of Ooredoo enables customers to enjoy uninterrupted M2M connectivity in the Middle East, North America and South East Asia.
