Oasis Smart SIM, an international USIM (Universal Subscriber Identity Module) and Spirent Communications plc, a leading device intelligence solution provider have decided to enter into a strategic partnership aiming to remove network provisioning and connectivity barriers for the development of connected devices. Through this partnership, both of them will look to cover enterprise and consumer market products, such as smart vehicles, cameras, production goods and logistics.
According to a recently published report from Gartner, the connected IoT market will cover around 6.4 billion devices in 2016 and 20.8 billion devices by 2020; which makes it a well-timed partnership for both the firms.
OASIS and Spirent spent a significant time in researching the need for connected IoT devices before executing this deal. They figured out that traditional SIM based models weren’t useful in the IoT-led era. To cope with the lack of efficiency caused by SIM based business models in IoT subscription and activation globally, they will launch a USIM equipped two-click software solution, which can easily be embedded into devices for an excellent cellular experience.
