LG, Sony, Honeywell Among Others Finalize New Standards For Internet of Things Home Interface

The AllSeen Alliance has come up with the new Home Appliances and Entertainment Service Framework to monitor and control smart entertainment and appliance devices in homes. The AllSeen Alliance is a cross-industry collaboration that focuses on advancing the IoT with the help of  AllJoyn open source software.

HAE Framework is the result of hard work put in by the Smart Spaces Working Group of AllSeen Alliance. The primary objective of this working group is to focus on horizontal and critical areas of IoT. It’s the second time when it has managed to achieve a milestone of this level.

Some of the major companies that have decided to come together to contribute to HAE Framework make room for names like Electrolux, Honeywell, Haier, LG Electronics, Panasonic, Lowe’s, Sony and Sharp.

The HAE Framework looks forward to coming up with a common set of interface that can control varied home entertainment and appliance devices like air conditioners, air quality monitors, air purifiers, ovens, robot vacuums, refrigerators, TVs and washers. Such a framework can give users a seamless experience and make their lives easy and hassle-free.
