Leading digital security provider Gemalto launched its first ever Cat. 1 LTE M2M module recently. The company has announced that this module is certified by Verizon to connect with the largest 4G LTE network in the US. Most of the IoT and M2M device manufacturers use 2G or 3G technology in their devices to connect them with each other. Now they will have an easy to use 4G technology integration option.
All the device makers using Verizon 4G LTE network have an easy access to Category 1 solution enabling cost optimized, highly efficient LTE technology and a market-ready roadmap. Gemalto and Verizon seek to address issues like the small form factor, data speed, power management and reduced latency in industrial IoT applications such as smart tracking, smart metering, and smart manufacturing.
The senior management team of Gemalto is delighted to announce this update and hopes that it will continue to live up to customers’ expectations in the future. Talking about Gemalto’s Cat. 1 LTE M2M module, Verizon Wireless’ Vice President Ro McNally stated that Gemalto’s seamless M2M technology coupled with Verizon’s expertise has the potential to revolutionize the IoT industry.
