With an objective to power 4G M2M (Machine to Machine) services for public sector organizations and businesses, EE has launched its new platform named “Connect.” In a recent statement, EE said that it had received a huge M2M device demand from businesses, which prompted it to come up with a platform that could address their needs.
While talking to audience at a recent event, EE’s director of national M2M and MNVO services, Jason Bellman said, “We were planning to introduce something like that for a while after receiving excessive demand from our clients. EE has made a heavy investment in ‘Connect’ on the grounds that it can address the rising M2M needs in the market.”
The entire world is chasing IoT as it’s the future of information technology. Coming up with the best possible platform to help customers realizing their IoT and M2M related needs gives a wonderful feeling overall, he further added. EE has a proven track record in this field, and with the launch of ‘Connect,’ it wants to expand its service portfolio in a fast paced environment. The company has set high targets in terms of the number of devices to be brought on the network over the next couple of years or so.
“We want to have 4 million devices on the board by 2017,” said Bellman. It’s a tough task, but given the past track record and expertise of EE, the management team is ready to start its efforts in this direction.
