Bristol Is Open, a JV between Bristol City Council and the University of Bristol, received the global ‘Smart City Innovator’ award at the recently concluded TM Forum Live! 2016 – Digital World Awards. Authorities have taken a number of initiatives towards Bristol smart city, and this award ceremony is one of them.
TM Forum is an industry association where digital businesses connect with leading companies and talented individuals to kickstart their digital transformation in Bristol smart city. As per the reports, over 3500 delegates representing more than 650 telecom & digital companies took part in this widely-covered event to share their ideas regarding Bristol smart city.
The Bristol Smart City Innovator award is given to a company that tries to put a positive impact on people’s lives in an innovative way and works towards bringing the overall cost of services in a city down. Paul Wilson, MD – Bristol Is Open, was present at the award ceremony. While accepting the Bristol smart city award, he said that this award was a clear evidence of Bristol’s innovative approach towards smart cities. The joint venture between University of Bristol and Bristol City Council would continue to push this initiative forward.
