The ever increasing scope for IoT (Internet of Things) and M2M (Machine To Machine) technologies has prompted Brazilian government to design new policies favoring these two technologies. As per the reports, the government along with private sector representatives has come up with a working group that will suggest guidelines for carrying out Research & Development activities related to IoT and M2M.
In Brazil, public sector alone houses over 100 million devices that could support IoT/M2M arena. If the government can use these technologies in water, electricity and gas field, a huge amount of money can be saved. The prime focus of Brazilian government as of now is to bring together all the isolated IoT and M2M initiatives running in different parts of the country. The government aims to connect people and industries in need of these technologies with those who offer IoT and M2M services.
Based on the current pace of the work, Government expects to present a fully prepared IoT and M2M plan by the end of 2015.
