Analog Devices Acquires SNAP Sensor SA, Advances Position In Signal Processing And Sensing

Analog Devices has decided to acquire SNAP Sensor SA to improve its market share in signal and sensing processing. SNAP Sensor is a Switzerland-based company that specializes in vision sensing technologies.

SNAP Sensor’s technology can significantly improve optical sensors by detecting the accurate image in difficult lighting condition. Moreover, it improves the sensing accuracy and reliability in identification, detection and guidance uses. As much of the image management task is done on the sensor, users can put in use lower and affordable power processors.

The senior management team of Analog Devices is delighted to announce this update and hopes that it will help the company hold its leadership position in the signal and sensing processing field. According to Michael Murray, GM – Industrial Sensing, Analog Devices, the cutting-edge technology and long-term vision of SNAP Sensor will allow Analog Devices to figure out new possibilities for its customers in a handful of IoT applications, such as building security, building automation, transportation, city management, etc.

Apart from these benefits, the acquisition further improves the sensing portfolio of Analog, allowing it to deliver best possible outcomes from its IoT solutions. Reports claim that SNAP’s Sensor team will continue to work from Switzerland to build a new Analog Devices R&D center and work with CSEM – Swiss research and technology organization.
