With an objective to strengthen its Internet of Things offerings, Alcatel-Lucent has acquired Mformation, a renowned name in mobile and IoT security and device management solutions for service providers, mobile operators and enterprises.
Terms of this agreement are not yet disclosed; however, Mformation is likely to be a part of IP Platforms organization of Alcatel-Lucent. As per the reports, this wing of Alcatel-Lucent provides services to a large number of clients belonging to sectors like digital home, automotive, utilities, healthcare, manufacturing, etc.
Mformation was founded in 1999 and has been offering top-notch services to over 20 service providers located in different parts of the world. At present, the company manages over 500 million devices. According to Bhaskar Gorti, President of IP Platforms, Alcatel-Lucent, “The importance of connected devices in today’s business environment is increasing at a fast pace. It’s important to safeguard these devices and provide a hassle-free and secure communication.”
“With Mformation’s world-class IoT Platform, Alcatel-Lucent will be able to live up to its customers’ expectations,” Gorti added. Along with extended IoT capabilities, this deal will also help Alcatel-Lucent to improve Customer Experience Management solutions.
